Texas and Beyond
Tuesday December 6, 2005
We have a great kindergarten program and every week is devoted to an individual letter. The week we had letter "L", one little girl got so excited and told me, "My Mama's name starts with an "L". I got very excited also, we always have to go with the flow you understand. "What is your Mama's name?" I asked. The little girl looked at me with a funny expression, then answered, "Mama!" she exclaimed, but I have a feeling she was thinking I wasn't too smart at that moment in time. Ah kids, how precious they are.

Just a little something to bring a smile to your face. One evening I was working at the video store and several things had not gone like they should have. A young man came in and I asked for his phone number and he couldn't remember it. I laughed and told him he was having a "senior moment" like the ones I had been having that evening. "Oh no, " he replied, "I graduated last year."

God created patterns Illuminating the Texas sky, Glorious colors uniting Whispering a contented sigh.
Texans come in all sizes From short, through medium, to tall, God created patterns Planting a conscience within us all.
God created patterns Cultivating friendships along each mile, To all who wander within our realm Giving a Texas "HOWDY" with a smile.
Texans come in all shapes From extra, extra large to the smallest of small, God created patterns Searching for a home within us all.
God created patterns Reminders of who we are, Helping everyone of us Shine beneath our personal star.

This Poem was written in 1978 right after my identical twin daughters were born. Now Amy will have a little one of her own in February right before her 28th birthday. We didn't know we were having twins until after the first one was born. SURPRISE, SURPRISE! They are 65 minutes apart in age.
The darkness my Dear Sister Is filled with love and warmth, Although the drum continues Its sound radiates a nearness That I do not quite understand, Yet my whole being seems fulfilled By its sweet gentle rhythm.
Yes my Darling Sister It is very dark, but yet I understand your feelings As the drum continues to beat, My heart is filled with warmth And your nearness makes me safe, As I continue to feel unafraid.
The time is coming closer, Dear Sister And the light will soon appear, Please do not be frightened As the drum will keep on beating, And the warmth will keep you safe We will soon be close once again But for now, Dear Sister, good-bye.
I am a little lonely Now that Sister has gone away, But soon I too will see the light And the secure dark and warmth And the continuing drumbeat Will no longer be a part of us, Yet Sister and I will be together once again.

The bands are playing carols And the children laugh out loud, As the clowns and all the horses Pass by the happy crowds.
The floats move ever so slowly As the beautiful girls wave all the while, And look at all the Santas Showing off their Christmas smiles.
There are cowboys, Indians, and Raggedy Ann And what's this, a walking tree? Look at all the colorful bicycles Just shining with Christmas glee.
The Joy Bus is filled with Christmas love As the children sing out strong, And look at all the tiny cars Just zooming right along.
There are many Senoritas In their beautiful handmade gowns, And the crowds all wave and cheer As the Christmas Parade winds through town.
