 IT'S A BOY!!!!

This is going to be short since I am worn out and need to get to sleep.

We have a grandson!!!!!! Born yesterday morning at 3:38 AM.Only 15 minutes after getting to the hospital. Weighs 6 pounds 15 ounces. Was 2 and a half weeks early. Our daughter and son are great and at home as of this afternoon. Will tell details of the harrowing circumstances later.

Now for a good night's sleep!!!!!!!!!!!

 Hailey

Hailey
a special young lady
with a giving heart
God's special child
from the very start.
God
knew she would become
a bright shining star
she is so precious
beyond others by far.
Family
let her down
not keeping her safe
taking from her
that can not be replaced.
Heart
so delicate
bent, yet not broken
Hailey's strong spirit
truth she has spoken.
Our Lord
knows Hailey
His joy is endless
He loves her unconditionally
She is far from friendless.
Friends
give comfort
when there is a need
to overpower those
takers of greed.
Life
is so full
of journeys we make
God is always there
to forgive our mistakes.
Prayer
is our lifeline
to God everyday
He helps us go forward
not go astray.
Happiness
is not just
joy upon this earth
but how we live
between death and our birth.
Children
are so innocent
when entering this world
they must be protected
little boys and sweet girls.
Hailey
is so special
so full of worth
that's why God
brought her to earth.
Inspiration
to us all
young and the old
giving us the courage
to always take hold.

Just for Hailey
Written this night
Thinking of you
A star that is bright!

 Wars of Delusion

Memories of mass confusion
Embedded within wars of delusion,
Winners can also lose
Among lies tattered within half truths.
Some young women and men will die
Unclear to the reason why,
Way off on sandy foreign ground
Bullets and blood are easily found.
Moms and Dads unleash their tears
To the realization of facing their worst fears,
Their children are dead, forever gone
From this earth where they should belong.
No one wins through such pain
Youth and land lie in crimson stain,
Freedom is wanted, freedom is sought,
With American lives it's unjustly bought.
Should we go to foreign lands
To rid their problems with American hands?
From the Viet Nam fiasco didn't we learn
That we need to limit our concerns?
We should look right here in the USA
A land where we should safely stay,
Let the rest of the world do without
American handouts usually taken with a pout.
Most other countries don't really care
The monies, the goods, the lives that we share,
They often take with one hand, with the other they hit
They smile, say thank you, then upon us they spit.

 Confronting the Inconceivable

Written 9/11/2001

Too often we become complacent
cocooning ourselves
within our self-absorbed world
accepting a false perspective
encouraged by our country's pride.

Too often we exhibit conceit
reveling in our good fortune
within our own self-made world
confronting the inconceivable
hidden within our worst nightmares.

Too often we forget to coexist
harboring under an umbrella
tattered by voracious moths
confident the outside world's problems
will unrealistically remain afar.

Too often we fool ourselves
believing kindness and understanding
begets the same
yet surprised by the invading evil
under the disguise of righteousness.

Too often we tend to over-celebrate
our nation's illustrious past
blinding ourselves to the present hatred
toward our freedom, yet shocked when
innocent lives are destroyed upon native soil.

Too often we become complacent
cocooning ourselves
within our self-absorbed world
a need to be aware and understand
there are entities beyond our individual realm.

 My Words

It is always interesting to revisit my words that were written during the times I was down and depressed. I have days when those feelings come back, but the meds help to shoo them away once more. I found this in one of my tablets I have, but I didn't date it, so not certain when it was written. Just one of those moments in time I had to get it out of my head and onto paper so the feelings would be held prisoner in another place-sight unseen until visiting day.

MY LIFE

My hand's a little shaky
My heart's a little sad
My soul's a little achy
My life's a little bad.

My feeling's a little crushed
My spirit's a little less
My mind's a little flushed
My life's a little mess.

My energy's a little depleted
My body's a little more
My talent's a little defeated
My life's a little sore.

However, even if it is Friday the 13th and a big ol' full moon out there is laughing at me, it is going to be a wonderful day here at school. We'll just go with the flow, roll with the punches and bounce off the walls just like the kids are going to be doing. Do you think the Army would rent us some protective armor????
I have already put in for combat pay!!!!!!!

I AM TEACHER'S AIDE HEAR ME ROAR-grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
