Isn't it strange sometimes that situations that seem totally unrelated, end up being linked together?
1. I had emailed a friend from high school the other day. I asked her how her love life is going? She just retired after 34 years on the same job.
2. Today, Wednesday, three of my daughters, myself and my three grandchildren drove to the town I grew up in to visit my mom and introduce her to her newest two great-grandsons.
3. I called my mom's neighbor to come over and visit with us, which she did.
4. The friend started talking about several articles in the newspaper about recent traffic accidents which speed was the cause. We had been talking about traveling and she said it was so much nicer at their ages, in the 80's, to just stay home.
5. I had thought about calling my school friend to see if she could come over, but one of my daughters wasn't feeling well, so I decided it wasn't a good idea.
6. We came back home okay and I was just checking my emails. With my girls and grandchildren being my focus, I haven't checked that particular email for awhile.
7. The first email was from my friend dated Sunday. She said she and her friend of 6 years have such a great relationship that she doesn't feel like she wants to marry again, not now anyway. She and several of her gal friends were going to have a few days of going out of town for shopping and just doing girl things.
8. The next email I opened was from some school friends and was through the web site our high school graduating class has had for almost 2 years. Our 40th high school reunion was last summer. My friend was the main person for organizing it, like she has done for all the other reunions down through the years.
9. The email sent condolences to her because her friend of 6 years died in an accident Monday night. I pulled up the article in the newspaper about it on the internet.
10. It was a one car accident and speed was the factor. Came upon a slower car, turned to avoid the car, over-corrected, overturned, was ejected and killed.
My email back to my friend of course was our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with her at this time.
Life pulls some really hard punches sometimes.
