A Little Lost Girl With a Big Heart!

There was once a little girl
With a very big heart
She saw the world through
Different eyes than the rest
Of her family
She wanted to be loved
So desperately, but
Things stood in the way
And she couldn't figure out why
She was made fun of by
Her own parents and siblings
And this hurt her heart
To the point she often thought
The world would be better
Off without her
So by the time she was twelve
She had thoughts of suicide
But she didn't share these feelings
With no one, except her precious diary
Day after day, she would secretly
Write her feelings down
Never letting anyone know
Of her secret of planning
Her own destiny
But something or someone
Was always by her side
Someone she could not see
But could feel a presence
That kept her company
And kept her from destroying
One of God's children
Something was still wrong
As she grew into a young woman
But once again someone was there
To help her along her journey
In life that had been set
For her to follow
She never understood really
But she also realized she
Was to keep herself pure
Of heart and body.
It has taken a lot of years
For the little girl with a big heart
Realize what her destiny in this life
Truly was, but at last she
Found out that the presence
Who had always been with her
Was her Heavenly Father
Watching over her and knowing
One day she would do incredible things
And she did, but not earth shattering
Events, but became the vessel
As a wife and mother, that this
Was her true worth in life
For now because God helped her
From her demons when she was small
She has a husband who cares for
Her so much that his health issues
Do not concern him as much as
My wellbeing, and I am in good health
Because of that little girl so long ago
Protected and loved by my Heavenly Father
We have five grown healthy children
One son and four married daughters
With four incredible sons-in-law
Who we know will always love and
Protect our daughters and our now four
Incredible grandchildren
Two granddaughters and two grandsons
God saw in that little girl with a big heart something
She, herself nor her family could see
But through faith God knew this little girl
Had to grow up, give birth to five incredible
Young people who got he best from both
Their parents and God had also blessed
Other families with special sons to be
Destined to meet and love our precious girls
And because of that love
There are four highly intelligent
Grandchildren who may one day make a real
Difference in this world, just like
Their own parents have
So life goes on, if you just let it
And because of God and His Blessings
To our family and having the faith
In a little lost girl with a big heart
He saw something that she finally
Understands.

Karen, not lost anymore!

 Shirley and Marcy

With school starting back up soon, a friend sent this to me and although I haven't seen it before, you may have, but still wanted to share it because I thought how cute it was. Hope you enjoy it and puts a smile on your face. As a parent of five, I can really appreciate this and although I don't know who wrote it, I thank them for their sharing it with others.By the way, my mother's name is Shirley.

Shirley & Marcy

A mom was concerned about her kindergarten son walking to school. He didn't want his mother to walk with him. She wanted to give him the feeling that he had some independence but yet know that he was safe.

So she had an idea of how to handle it. She asked a neighbor if she would please follow him to school in the mornings, staying at a distance, so he probably wouldn't notice her.

She said that since she was up early with her toddler anyway, it would be a good way for them to get some exercise as well, so she agreed.

The next school day, the neighbor and her little girl set out following behind Timmy as he walked to school with another neighbor girl he knew. She did this for the whole week..

As the two walked and chatted, kicking stones and twigs, Timmy's little friend noticed the same lady was following them as she seemed to do every day all week. Finally she said to Timmy, 'Have you noticed that lady following us to school all week? Do you know her?'

Timmy nonchalantly replied, 'Yeah, I know who she is.'

The little girl said, 'Well, who is she?'

'That's just Shirley Goodnest,' Timmy replied, 'and her daughter Marcy.'

'Shirley Goodnest? Who the heck is she and why is she following us?'

'Well,' Timmy explained, 'Every night my Mom makes me say the 23rd Psalm with my prayers, 'cuz she worries about me so much. And in the Psalm, it says, 'Shirley Goodnest and Marcy shall follow me all the days of my life', so I guess I'll just have to get used to it!'

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face to shine upon you, and be gracious unto you; the Lord lift His countenance upon you, and give you peace.

May Shirley Goodnest and Marcy be with you today and always.

I know you smiled! I sure did.

God Bless, Karen

 BBCA

Just a small hello as I'm blogging and watching BBCA channel. The British channel is one of my favorites. I'm watching "Cash in the Attic," right now, and I love it.If you've never watched it, you should check it out.

I'm still resting from VBS!

I'm actually home alone this morning, which very rarely happens, so I feel like hollering, "YES!" Well, actually I did

God Bless to All and Happy Friday!

 I'm Beyond Tired!

Teaching VBS used to be a lot of work and rewarding, but not too tiring when I was younger, but I'm so exhausted, I'm really feeling like I could sleep for a very long time and not even feel guilty about it. Plus, two of our grandchildren have been with us since Sunday so they can go with to VBS each evening. We also each evening drop by my friend's house to pick up her granddaughter to go with us. She and our granddaughter are only two months apart in age, yet my friend's granddaughter is twice the size as ours.

Now we have her over here all afternoon because her grandparents had a doctor appointment in Austin and asked if we would watch her so she wouldn't miss the last night of VBS. Yes, now I am more tired than ever. Luckily our daughter drove in last night, went to VBS with us and then spent the night. Then our grandson decided to home with Mommy for a few hours and now they are back. My daughter said she should have left him here, because he was a little toot. She got a taste of that last night in our class of 2,3 and 4 year old children. We had only five last night, but the night before we had ten.

I worked for a month one summer at my friend's daycare, and now I remember why I didn't like it and quit, but just quitting your church VBS, doesn't sound too Christ-like somehow, although my assistant has said she quit every evening and I did too, but of course, like true martyrs, we just keep coming back for more.

Well, tonight is the last night, hooray! I didn't even volunteer to teach, but was asked to after the other teacher had emergency female surgery, so it was the only Christian thing to do, say, "Of course, I will." Some people think it's very hard to be a Christian, and this is a fine example of why.

Well, it's getting closer to the time to go to the church building, three hours from now. I better go into my room and meditate to get myself under control so I will be in a Christ-like mood, inside and out.

Blessings to All,
Karen
