 FIVE FRIDAY FACTS!

1. I worked 10 hours in the ER as a volunteer.

2. I loved it!

3. If I didn't need to keep what happens in the ER stays in the ER, I would already have enough stories to write the first few chapters of my wish book, A Volunteer in ER!

4. Did I tell you I loved it?

5. We will be gone from the 1st. thru the 13th to help babysit our grandson, Charlie. We will also be helping take care of daughter, Amy, as she will be recouping from surgery to help cure her sleep apnea.

OKAY, YOU TALKED ME INTO IT! Just one story. An elderly lady of 94 years came to the ER. I asked her driver if she would like some ice water. The driver said she was fine. The elderly said, "I want a bottle of whiskey and I want to get drunk."

God Bless to everyone and please remember my Amy in your prayers. When I get a chance I will let y'all know how everything is going.

Love,
Karen I2

 His Will Is Now Done!

His name was Kevin
He was only 22
There was an accident
His earthly life is through.

Her name was Belinda
She was only 35
It was a heart attack
That ended her life.

His name was Jesse
He was only 85
A massive stroke
Depleted his life's drive.

His name was Kevin
A former student of mine
He was an expectant father
Within a few month's time.

Her name was Belinda
A young lady I saw grow
A wife, a mother of three
Wearing a happiness glow.

His name was Jesse
Married 64 years
His beloved Eleanor
Is now shedding her tears.

His name was Kevin
But his legacy will live on
His child will be born
Making Kevin's memory strong.

Her name was Belinda
So loving, so kind
A special soul
A blessing to find.

His name was Jesse
A dear Christian man
My brother in Christ
He'll be missed in this land.

This summer has been
Filled with loss
Making us remember
Who is our Great Boss.

This is the beginning
Not the end
Because I will also go to heaven
To be with my friends.

When will I take the journey
From here to there?
None of us know
Yet there is one thing we all share.

We are all Christians
Believing in God's Son
Having faith in Our Father
His Will is now done.

 Jesus

I received this in an email today from a sister-in-Christ and the message is powerful. I wanted to share it with you although many of you may have seen it already.

Jesus had no servants, yet they called Him Master. Had no degree, yet they called Him Teacher. Had no medicines, yet they called Him Healer. Had no army, yet kings feared Him. He won no military battles, yet He conquered the world. He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him. He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today. Feel honored to serve such a Leader who loves us.

In the Bible, Jesus says..."If you deny me before man, I will deny you before my Father in Heaven."

 Starting a New Adventure!

I finally started something today that I have been wanting to do for many years. I have joined our hospital auxiliary and had my orientation this morning. It is pretty exciting and something different. I will either on Friday or Saturday, or both, go into ER and learn the ropes of what a volunteer can do to help in that area.

We have a new hospital that opened up only last year in June. It is so nice for us being such a small town. It is only 5 miles from our home. It also has a beautiful outside healing garden and I will have to take a moment with camera in hand to get photos of it. The flowers are gorgeous.

Being a small community, I know a lot of the people who work there, plus the administrator and I'm sure will know many patients as well. I have been on occasion in the hospital to be tested for this and that and a few minor procedures as well.

The reason I have joined now instead of after I retire, like most of the volunteers do, is because I wanted to be in good health and not too old before starting.

Please wish me luck! Hopefully our ER won't be like the tv ER! My doctor son-in-law assures me it won't be.

 Me And My Shadow

If I had been standing the other way, it might have made for a more interesting photo. LOL! GET THE PICTURE?

Texas Toadstools live up to their name. Just like the size of the state, we have some mighty big wild toadstools.

I was almost laying on the ground to get this shot. GOTTA WATCH OUT FOR THE FIRE ANTS!! OUCH!!!!!!!!
